New NFL Season upon us!!! Possibilities vs. Probabilities
In less than 5 hours the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys will kick off the Hall of Fame game and a new season.
I'm very excited and ready to offer some thoughts and predictions.
Tonights Game
Winners and losers don't matter in preseason, but what i will be looking for...
What kind of depth is there at RB in Cincy behind Cedric Benson.
WR depth in Cincy is also worth noting...T.O. is getting up there in age and Chad Ochocinco has been injured the last two seasons. That and 'splash' offseason acquisition Antonio Bryant is supposedly still nursing injury.
Dallas has a crowded backfield and i'll be curious to see the RB rotation early. I expect Barber, Jones, Choice in that order.
Buffalo Bills New Coach and GM
The Bills drafted RunningBack CJ spiller with the 9th selection in this years draft.
With exceptional speed and elusiveness, he's projected to be a big playmaker on both offense and special teams.
With CJ, Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch in the backfield, the Bills are poised to be a serious running threat.
Another option is they dangle Lynch as trade bait closer to or during the season when surely some RBs will have gone down around the league.
The Bills play the Redskins on Friday night and something i'll be looking closely at in both games is the #2 WR position.
In Buffalo it's Lee Evans as the clear #1. The guys fighting to start opposite him look to be James Hardy, Steve Johnson Chad Jackson and rookie Marcus Easley.
I don't care who steps up, but someone must to alleviate the constant double teams on Evans.
In DC they face the same problem. Besides proven veteran WR Santana Moss, there's no clear cut #2.
The team and fans would love for youngsters Devin Thomas or Malcolm Kelly to make the leap this year,
and newly acquired star QB Donavon McNabb will give them the opportunity to sink or swim. He's shown with Desean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin in Philly that he's no ageist, and the 'Skins will put the best guy on the field. Even if it is Joey Galloway.
SUPER BOWL 45 prediction!!!
The Indianapolis Colts VS the Washington Redskins.
You heard it here first!!!

Buddy Nix hired as new GM in Buffalo....hmmm.
Many continue to make the same hackneyed mistake:
Do NOT regard the Bills as an NFL football team: They're awful.
Instead regard them as a comedic parody of an NFL football team: They're great.
Turn consternation into elucidation...

The greatest sport
LT's career is a testament to why football is the greatest sport in the world. It is truly a team sport.
As good as LT was in his prime, the Chargers still never really did squat. If you put a stellar player like he was then in any other sport, you could surround him with mediocre talent and still dominate the sport, as a team. In the NFL, it isn't so easy. It's sad, really, that someone as complete as he was/is didn't win a couple championships, or even play in any. It just goes to show you that you need a stellar TEAM to compete in the NFL.
Greatest sport on the planet.

2009...Year of the Bird? Not so fast!
As of now there are 4 teams with a chance to win the big game and 3 of them have birds as mascots....the Ravens, Cardinals, and Eagles.
And then there's Pittsburgh.
They don't even have an animal as a mascot, they have a metal.
I've always liked the odd man out, so here's to the Steelers winning the Superbowl!
Eagles take Giants Lunch!!!
