Flat on his Back...

Donte Whitner, SS, and the man who guaranteed playoffs in Buffalo this year, is flat on his back.
The blow was delivered by New England RB Kevin Faulk, who according to Dan Dierdorf, had done well
'so far this season'...Dan, it's week 17. The season is over in 30 minutes.
Done well so far...you retard.

For the purpose of the photo above, picture Sonny Liston as the Bills
and Ali as the rest of the league.

That play sums up the Bills season, like so many crappy plays this season have.
Fire Dick Jauron.

Correction...it was Sammy Morris (former Bill?) who clobbered Donte.

More honorable mentions for Buffalo Bills players....

Other notable Bills on field performers for '08...

Backup RB Fred Jackson proved invaluable.
Playing behind Marshawn Lynch's  1,036 rushing and 300 receiving yards,
Jackson put up 500+ on the ground, 3 Td's and a healthy 4.3 ypc.
Add to that his 300+ yards receiving and it's clear Buffalo has a
strong one two punch in the backfield.

Second year QB Trent Edwards played serviceable in his first full season as the unquestioned starter. Barely 2,600 yards and 11 Td's to 10 Int's in 13 starts won't get him any Pro-Bowl nods, but his quick decision making, and equally fast release don't hurt. There's a glaring lack of  WR talent beyond Lee Evans and Josh Reed. If Rookies Steve Johnson and James Hardy can establish themselves as reliable options, Trent should look even better in '09.

Rookie CB/KR Leodis McKelvin is as explosive/exciting as advertised.
I thought swapping McKelvin for Terence McGee on kick returns wasn't a great idea.
McGee has been among the elite over the past 5 years.
But from his first touch in the pre-season, he's shown there to be no drop off whatsoever.
In fact, he seems quicker in his cuts and decisions.

Bills MVP of the season...League MVP and special mentions.

It seems like just last week we were gearing up for kickoff and here we are,
staring at January and the bittersweet yet familiar feeling of a Bills-less playoffs.

The playoffs should be great this year, as always, even if your favorite team isn't involved.

*Peyton Manning and the Colts have the fires stoked and are burning on all cylinders
    at the right time.

*Pittsburgh and Tennessee both play great D, and can run over, around and through anyone.

*Giants have looked beatable in December, but came on strong last week to beat the #2 NFC      seed Carolina Panthers. But both of these teams are dangerous.

MVP's

League/Offensive....Peyton Manning, Colts
The Colts wouldn't have won 7 games if Peyton didn't get healthy and will this team to at least 4 wins.
Runner Up... Adrian Peterson, Vikings

Defensive...Demarcus Ware, Cowboys
He's a nightmare for offensive linemen. He can't be stopped even when double teamed. He's 3 sacks from breaking the single season record of 22.5 (strahan) and he had 3 last week.
Runner Up...Jared Allen, Vikings

Now for the MVP of the Buffalo Bills season...

BEASTMODE
Marshawn Lynch, RB

Rumors swirling about new Bills Head Coach???

With Dick Jauron on the 'Hot Seat' in Buffalo since the teams monumental second half collapse,
a few names have surfaced as possible replacements.
Of course the big names people are hoping for are former Steelers coach Bill Cowher and former journeyman coach Marty Schottenheimer.
I'd personally be happy with either of those proven coaches, but i'm not holding my breath
that owner Ralph Wilson's short arms will find his checkbook in those deep pockets.
So, if we're forced to accept ANOTHER bargain basement coach, I have a candidate who has surely been overlooked by most if not all other NFL teams.
Ladies (yeah, right) and Gentlemen, i present;
CatDuck.

The best thing about CatDuck is....he 'gives not a fuck'.
That's what we need in Buffalo.
Think Mike Singletary with webbed feet.

Jauron Quotes // Nilla Cakesters

When coach Jauron was recently asked if there was a danger of 'losing' the locker room in the final three weeks of the season, our courageous coach responded with this rich quote;
"Well, there is a danger of everything"

Here's another gem...

"I'm not overly optimistic"

C'mon.
I hate typical, canned responses by coaches at press conferences...
but this is the worst, most mindless drivel I've ever heard from an 'Ivy League'
educated coach in the NFL.

My buddy Scott and I used to sit and watch the press conferences on ESPN and NFL Network for hours on mondays.
Always hoping to hear the Bills or Redskins conferences, but usually ended
up listening to the snooze fest that is Andy Reid.
Well I'd take Andy Reid's dismissive/grumpy Santa routine over the
wooden lightbulb that is Dick Jauron any day.

I'm sure Scott would agree.
Here's something else we agree on....
Nilla Cakesters are the Bomb baby Bomb!
Scott told me to check them out a few weeks ago,
and it took me a minute but I'm finally picking up on what he was puttin' down!
Those things are mouth miracles!

Sweet Home...Toronto?!?!

The Buffalo Bills will play their 7th 'home' game this Sunday
against the Miami Dolphins at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Canada.
Rogers Telecommunications bought the rights to 8 Bills games over the next four years
for an astounding 8o million dollars.
3 will be pre-season games, 5 will be regular season, record affecting games.
Sunday's game will be the first.
Some believe this agreement foreshadows a permanent move for the Bills to Toronto.
I'm not of that belief.
There are notable people with money and sway,
including the current NFL commissioner Roger Goodell,
who are willing to do whatever it takes
to keep the Bills in Western New York.

Here's my problem...
we are playing the Miami Dolphins, in December.
The boys from South Florida are famous for playing like crap
late in the season when they have to travel North and face the winds,
lake effect snow and generally cold and blustery conditions of Buffalo.
Well, kiss that advantage goodbye Buffalo fans.
Keep your earflap hats and massive parkas at home...
the Rogers center has a roof,
and it'll be closed on Sunday.

So instead of 70,000 crazy bills fans, braving the cold for their team...
this Sunday, if you see the stands, you'll see 39,o00 or so
confused CFL fans in sweaters and cuffed jeans.
Homefield advantage my nuts.

Bills Head Coach Dick Jauron Pushing for NEW Bills Logo???

Found this on the Bills official website messageboard.
No Doubt it will be taken down swiftly.
The Moderators(ahem...fascists) there are known to limit
what most message board users would call 'free speech'.

Anyway, thanks to chevy064, from Warren, PA for a good laugh.!
Not only is it funny, but it draws attention to a real issue...
JAURON COACHES SCARED.
Many of the messageboard regulars at Buffalobills.com are as serious
and informed about football, especially Bills football, as ANY
sportswriter/sportscaster that i've read or seen on TV.
Some of them are pretty darn funny, too!

PUTRIDITY!! !!!

The Buffalo Bills football (Dis)organization embodies the word putridity.

pu-trid  [pyoo-trid]
-adjective
1. in a state of foul decay or decomposition, as animal or vegetable matter; rotten.
2. of, pertaining to, or attended by putrefaction.
3. having the odor of decaying flesh.
4. thoroughly corrupt, depraved, or evil.
5. of very low quality; rotten.

Sure, all this about 'rotten flesh' could be an over the top comparison...
but moving on to example 4, "thoroughly corrupt, depraved, or evil",
I believe we have something there.
Some will dismiss owner Ralph Wilson's inability to win a championship in the NFL,
field a playoff contender this decade,
or keeping a coach who has gone 7-9, 7-9 and turning a 5-1 start into losing record (give it 3 weeks) as unfortunate strokes of luck...not necessarily "evil" or "depraved"...

But number 5 is DEAD ON.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Buffalo Bills
but it no longer bothers me to look critically at the team and organization
like i do myself in the mirror.
Pick at the blemishes, and why not?
I know every pock mark and scar.
The weak points and the fears.
Nobody has loved the Bills more,
Nobody has hated the Bills more.

Driven to Blogging...a story of Rage.

American football is the greatest sport on the planet.
And more specifically, the NFL is the most outstanding sports league.

That's how I'm jumping into the 'blogosphere(?)'...
Throwing down my credo at the door.
All ye who enter this domain shall know that one truth as the basis of my banter.

I could end my first post right there.
Sure it would be brief, but sometimes more often than not, less is more.
;)
But no,  I'm going to forge ahead and throw another piece of mind meat on the plate to chew on....

Ralph Wilson of the Buffalo Bills MUST FIRE Head Coach DICK JAURON.

If his career record of 56 wins to 74 losses doesn't speak for itself...
his gametime decision making, misuse of personnel, and ultra-conservative approach clearly don't work in Buffalo.

In his first two seasons leading the Bills, the team went
7-9  in 2006
7-9 in 2007
and this seasons team, which began with so much hope at 5-1,
has lost the wind from it's sails and is looking conspicuously more like a Jauron coached team each week....
a sinking ship!

Somebody wake up Ralph Wilson at 1 Bills Drive and tell him to "Shit or Get off the Pot!!".
Sell this team to someone who wants a winner, or at least a competitor,  in Western New York.
Overhaul the coaching staff and, god forbid, spend some money on the Front Office and Coaching...or all the money you put into players is money down the drain.
The proof is in the pudding.
The pudding tastes like shit.
