The Buffalo Bills football (Dis)organization embodies the word putridity.
pu-trid [pyoo-trid]
-adjective
1. in a state of foul decay or decomposition, as animal or vegetable matter; rotten.
2. of, pertaining to, or attended by putrefaction.
3. having the odor of decaying flesh.
4. thoroughly corrupt, depraved, or evil.
5. of very low quality; rotten.
Sure, all this about 'rotten flesh' could be an over the top comparison...
but moving on to example 4, "thoroughly corrupt, depraved, or evil",
I believe we have something there.
Some will dismiss owner Ralph Wilson's inability to win a championship in the NFL,
field a playoff contender this decade,
or keeping a coach who has gone 7-9, 7-9 and turning a 5-1 start into losing record (give it 3 weeks) as unfortunate strokes of luck...not necessarily "evil" or "depraved"...
But number 5 is DEAD ON.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Buffalo Bills,
but it no longer bothers me to look critically at the team and organization
like i do myself in the mirror.
Pick at the blemishes, and why not?
I know every pock mark and scar.
The weak points and the fears.
Nobody has loved the Bills more,
Nobody has hated the Bills more.
